Description

The second largest nunnery in Romania and the only monastic settlement to bear the name “Christian love” (from the Greek agape), was commissioned by Gavril, the Minister of war, brother of Prince Vasile Lupu, in 1644. Here visitors can admire the paintings of Nicolae Grigorescu, painted between 1858 and 1860 in a neoclassical style, with many innovating elements.
